BB was diagnosed with stage 4, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in June 2005 at the age of 74. She had a compression fracture (which was later determined to be from the malignancy) and was scheduled to have cement put in her spine. It was cancelled because an x-ray showed a nodule in her lung. Her biopsy, CAT and MRI confirmed the diagnosis. Her oncologist recommended 10 radiation treatments to her vertebrae and Tarceva, which she started immediately after diagnosis in mid-June....
DG was diagnosed with glioblastoma stage 4 in 2004 at 4 years of age. In the same month he had a craniotomy and resection to remove visible tumor from the left temporal and frontal lobe. The tumor was found to be very aggressive and despite treatment, it was unlikely he would survive. The surgeon and oncologist predicted at best a 5-12 month lifespan with treatment. In May 2004 he started radiation treatment consisting of 33 rounds over 45 days. He was also given 70 mg Temador...

In the same month he had surgery where all visible brain tumor was removed. He also went through 33 rounds of intensity modulated radiation therapy and rotating gamma. He completed his treatments by February 2004. He refused any chemotherapy and Temador and was told by his oncologist that the Christmas he celebrated in December would be...
KW, a 67-year old male was diagnosed with advanced multiple myeloma in March 2001. His CT chest scan with contrast revealed multiple rib lesions and osteolytic lesions of the thoracic spine consistent with osseous metastatic disease. There was volume loss with pleural thickening and parenchymal scarring in the lower lung zones. Small pleural plaque was also seen posteriorly on the right. Focal mass within the lung was suspicious for malignancy. An additional mass involving the right...
RR is 72 year old woman that was diagnosed in October 2004 with non small cell lung (NSCLC) cancer stage 2. The mass in her left lobe measured 2.8 cm on a CT scan in 9/04. The CT scan also revealed a pretracheal adenopathy measuring up to 1.4 cm, an infracarinal adenopathy measuring 1.9 cm, a right hilar adenopathy measuring 1.4 cm and a left hilar lymph node measuring 1.5 cm. Her PET scan also revealed uptake in the upper left lung and lymph nodes confirming cancer activity. Her...
FA was diagnosed with stage 4, non small cell lung (NSCLC) cancer at age 61. She was given taxol and carboplatin, from July 2004 until the end of September 2004. According to a CT scan, the tumors size decreased by 50%. During this time she suffered two heart attacks, one that was silent after being given a flu shot on October 1. She underwent a catheterization and 2 complete blockages were found. The chemotherapy and the heart attack destroyed part of her heart muscle. She was...

WK is an 81-year old female diagnosed in March 2004 with Stage 4 colon cancer and liver metastasis as revealed by a CT scan. The cancer caused a blockage that required a colon resection (hemicolectomy) performed in April 2004. She refused post-operative chemotherapy.
